Expert ADF Financial Advice For Sydney

Sydney’s Defence community spans major Army, Navy and Air Force establishments. Holsworthy Barracks is home to one of the Army’s major footprints and hosts regular, reserve and tri-service units. Around the harbour, Victoria Barracks at Paddington and HMAS Kuttabul above the historic Garden Island connect serving members with Defence administration, training and logistics.  Further north-west, RAAF Base Richmond is best known as home to the C-130J Hercules. This heavy Defence concentration makes our specialist advice valuable, because we know Sydney members can face unique arrangements.

National Service Financial operates from the Mariners Commercial Building on the New South Wales Central Coast. Sydney clients begin with a financial discovery appointment (focused on your position, priorities, and goals), held remotely, at the Central Coast office, or through another arrangement. For those needing government support, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs has a New South Wales office and Veterans’ Access Network in Surry Hills. When comparing financial advisors in Sydney, it helps to choose a team that understands how Defence service, compensation and military super work together.

Sydney’s housing costs can make planning especially important when your income or location changes. A posting, separation or medical discharge may affect your mortgage, Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme (DHOAS) support, household budget and long-term superannuation strategy. Our DVA financial advice considers these issues, along with any permanent impairment compensation, incapacity payments, or Special Rate Disability Pension, in relation to your broader financial goals.

Supporting Sydney's Military Community

Our structured process ensures your financial future is secure and well-planned, providing ongoing support throughout your transition.

Knowing which local services are available, and working with a financial advisor experienced in veteran matters, makes it easier to find appropriate support during a posting or transition out of service

  • Holsworthy Barracks

Holsworthy is a major Army base in New South Wales, established in the 1880s and grown to house a training area covering almost 20,000 hectares.

  • Richmond and Garden Island

RAAF Base Richmond is about 50 km north-west of Sydney and is home to the C-130J Hercules fleet. HMAS Kuttabul, within the Garden Island Defence Precinct, provides administrative, training and logistics support to Defence personnel across the Sydney metropolitan area. Sitting next to Sydney Harbour, HMAS Kuttabul has a rich history, with Garden Island taking its name from a vegetable patch established for the First Fleet in 1788.

  • Western Sydney Veteran Support

Veteran and Families’ hubs are being developed at Bardia Barracks in Ingleburn and in Hawkesbury. The new hubs are expected to support around 19,200 veterans and family members across Greater Sydney.
